Poetry

The Truth Is

What is the truth to me:
Lying on cinnamon grass
Bathing in golden sun rays
Running mad up the murky river bend
One mile, two, and another three.
Ten black ducks floating downstream
Until the current ends.
The wind carrying a caged bird free.
The cling-clang song of the railroad tracks and the passing train,
And the silence between its stop and go.

The truth is:

Receiving small and giving big,
Then quickly forgiving others and laughing
With ease even at me.
It's in the dark chocolate
As it melts between my teeth, and
In the hands of those who harvested the cocoa leaves.

What is the truth to me:
Must I travel to the wonders of the world, or
Discover the wonder in my own world?
